Sessions
We host research sessions regularly to give young people in East London a space to have real input on current mental health research that affects them.
Each session is 1 hour and is typically attended by a researcher who is looking for advice on their project. This will be a research project which is in the area of mental health research and is being conducted at Queen Mary University of London. Each session typically involves looking at a different research study, so there are opportunities to attend sessions on various topics.
How often do you run sessions?
We hold sessions once a month, on average - with other opportunities to join for talks and related activities alongside this. We have a break in August, where we don’t run any sessions.
How many places are there for each session?
There are 6-8 places available for each session. This is to ensure that everyone has the chance to contribute to the session.
If you don’t get a place on a particular session but you’d still like to contribute, you are more than welcome to contact Abi, and we can arrange a separate time to chat one-to-one so that you can contribute to the research.
How can I sign up for a session if I’m interested?
Sessions are advertised in our monthly newsletter. An Eventbrite link will be sent ahead of a session so you can sign up to join.
What do I need when attending a session?
There isn’t anything you need to bring to join one of our research sessions. But we do ask that all of those attending follow our group agreement. This was developed by the group, to make sure that we approach all of our sessions with respect and kindness. Please follow the link below to read this before joining a session:
